1. The Core Role of GGH

The Gas-Gas Heater is a critical component in coal-fired power plants. It recovers heat from high-temperature flue gas and transfers it to the treated, low-temperature gas after desulfurization. This reheating process is essential for preventing white plume at the stack and extending the operational lifespan of the equipment.

2. Differential Characteristics of Scales by Gas Path

Inside the heat exchanger, hard inorganic scales form through the combination of process by-products and unreacted substances. The treated gas path is primarily affected by gypsum(CaSO4⋅2H2O) deposits, while the flue gas path accumulates complex inorganic scales mixed with calcium carbonate(CaCO3), silica(SiO2), aluminium oxide(Al2O3), iron oxide(FeO), ferric oxide(Fe2O3) and triiron tetraoxide(Fe3O4). These inorganic materials have significantly lower thermal conductivity than metal, serving as the primary cause of a sharp decline in heat transfer efficiency.
